How does Smartshots work?
Our API accepts images from multiple sources (browser, mobile, direct upload), processes them to optimize results for categorization and searchability, and then stores them securely for your account. The automation and convenience is the point. You just take the screenshot or save the image and Smartshots handles the rest.
How is this different from other screenshot apps?
Smartshots is about research, convenience and smart, automatic categorization. Editing capabilities are intentionally minimal. The goal is to get screenshots and images organized and searchable with as little effort as possible. Other apps focus on editing, annotation, and sharing. Smartshots focuses on organization and retrieval. We think screenshots are a solved problem on the major Desktop OS platforms and mobile. The problem we solve is what happens after you've taken the screenshot.
Are my images private?
Yes. All user images are private for each user account. Smartshots uses Row Level Security for our image storage. Only authenticated users can view and modify their own images. The app also allows users to make specific images public, share them on social media, email, and download. Per our stated policy, we will only ever view user images if specifically asked by the user in attempt to offer support. We will never use user images for any other purpose.
How do the platform applications coordinate syncing images?
Both the mobile app and the the Chrome Extension sync one-way to the web app. The web app is the best way to manage and search screenshots and images.
Can I download my images?
Absolutely. You can download individual images or group selections. They just won't have the AI organization and search features.
